Carrie Underwood is engaged to Ottawa Senators hockey player Mike Fisher.

The rumors started swirling Sunday when a so-called "family friend" of Mike's, Colin Peters, wrote on his Twitter page, "Congratulations to Mike Fisher and Carrie Underwood! We just got the call at our family Christmas get together." Colin has since removed the post.

Her publicist, Jessie Schmidt, confirmed the engagement Monday and says "the couple couldn't be happier."

Mike Fisher told the press that he popped the question yesterday afternoon and Carrie said yes! He then said, "We're both obviously excited and very happy."

No wedding date has been set for the couple. Carrie and Mike have been dating for close to a year.

Elin Nordegren Woods, the scorned wife of disgraced golfer Tiger Woods, has decided to leave him after Christmas and is talking with a divorce lawyer. Is this true or rumor?

It has been rumored that Elin Woods stopped wearing her wedding ring and that she is thinking about filing for divorce after Christmas. If she leaves him, then his reasons for his break from golf are moot.

Sources are saying that Elin wants the holiday season to be the usual and normal one (at least appear to be) for the two kids Sam and Charlie. Afterthe holidays though, Elin wants to separate them from their dad.

It also appears that Tiger, who just announced an indefinite break from golf, is in some type of counseling after Elin angrily insisted he see a therapist.

Tyler Perry Mother Dies

On his website Tuesday, actor and producer Tyler Perry announced the passing of his mother Willie Maxine Perry who was 61 years old. Willie Maxine Perry — a preschool teacher at the New Orleans Jewish Community Center .

Perry, 40, simply posted his mother’s full name, birth date and the date of her death with a photo of the two at the Los Angeles premiere of Madea’s Family Reunion in 2006.

“Thank you for all your prayers,” Tyler wrote without explaining the cause of his mom’s passing.

Willie Maxine Perry was the inspiration for Medea, the irrepressible character of so many movies that made Perry rich and famous. Tyler Perry talks about his mother, his young life, and the roll of God in this interview with CNN's Larry King.

Country music duo Brooks & Dunn, whose honky-tonk bravado catapulted them to the top of the charts for almost two decades, said on Monday they would break up after a farewell tour next year.

Several music industry observers were stunned and surprised over the statement made by the famous duo 54-year-old Kix Brooks and 56-year-old Ronnie Dunn, that the time for split has come.

"After 20 years of making music and riding this trail together, we have agreed as a duo that it's time call it a day," they said.

"This ride has been everything and more than we could ever have dreamed.... We owe it all to you, the fans. If you hear rumors, don't believe them, it's just time."

The dates of their next year’s farewell tour are yet to be announced. Back in 1991, Brooks and Dunn hit the charts for the first time. Soon they became the biggest-selling duo in history of country’s music. According to Nielsen SoundScan, in United States the duo sold 22.3 million albums.

Brooks and Dunn also won a couple of Grammy awards and dozens of other music related honors.

Reports circulated every news outlet yesterday saying that Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler was leaving the band after almost 4 decades together.

Joe Perry declared that Steven Tyler, the band’s leader and songwriter, had quit. Perry suggested that the band would find a new lead singer and go on. This, after 39 years.

"Aerosmith is positively looking for a new singer to work with. You just can't take 40 years of experience and throw it in the bin," Perry tweeted. "[The] band is playing hotter than ever and our songs need to be played live. Don't despair: Aerosmith is not splitting up. Promise that's the last you'll hear from me on the subject 'till we gear up again."

But rest at ease Aerosmith fans, Steven Tyler came out today to set the record straight.

Steven Tyler appeared at the 2009 Glamour Women of the Year Awards last night and when questioned about the rumors that he was leaving Aerosmith, he replied:

"Does it look like I'm leaving Aerosmith? You know what it is, it's those people who are putting out Joe's [Perry] album. Joe's doing a solo album. So people are paying attention to that."

In any case, sources say the division in the band has less to do with Tyler’s massive personal problems than with disagreements over the band’s management and future.

Garrard mcclendon's parents killed

Garrard McClendon, the host of the show called “Garrard McClendon Live”, suffered a personal tragedy. McClendon’s parents were killed. McClendon’s parents were discovered dead in a double murder in Calumet City.

On Tuesday night, police were searching the couple's home for evidence and were looking for their car.

Milton McClendon was 78. His wife, Ruby, was 76. They lived in Hammond where Garrard grew up.

Milton and Ruby’s causes of deaths were likely from gunshot wounds. Ruby Milton had one gunshot wound on her head and Milton McClendon had multiple gunshot wounds. A neighbor taking a walk around the area found their bodies and called police.

The medical examiner had a difficult time identifying them, because their IDs were not on them.

"Milton McClendon was indentified through the means of a pacemaker," said Richard Hoyda, Hammond Police.

The McClendon couple lived on the 1000 block on Field Street, Calumet City. Mr and Mrs McClendon had three sons.

Officials speculated and they were right!!

We thought it was super crazy that South African sprinter Caster Semenya had to go through complicated tests to prove she's actually a woman......and a man!

Tests conducted during the world athletics championships in Berlin last month, where Semenya has been at the centre of an emotional storm, after taking gold in the women's 800 metres at the world championships and prompting claims she was a man.

The 18-year-old South African champ has no womb or ovaries and her testosterone levels are more than three times higher than those of a normal female, according to reports. Testosterone is a hormone responsible for building muscles and for producing body hair and a deep voice.

"God made me the way I am and I accept myself. I am who I am and I'm proud of myself," she told You Magazine, which ran a photo spread.

"I don't want to talk about the tests. I'm not even thinking about them."

The Athletics federation may disqualify her from future events and advise her to have surgery.

Katrina Lee 23, had laser surgery on her face, liposuction, dental work and hired a personal trainer to lose two stone to make it past the initial auditions this summer.

The Belfast-born shop worker was told by pop mogul Simon Cowell that he wished he could put her voice 'in someone else's body'. It was five years ago.

Desperate to impress at the Glasgow auditions this year, she also dyed her hair bright red for the audition.

'I came face-to -face with Simon Cowell and told him that his comments had nearly wrecked my life. He told me, "That's not a nice thing I said".

After auditioning at 18, she battled an eating disorder and said it crushed her confidence with men.

Whitney Houston is in full-on comeback mode and appeared on Good Morning America today to promote her first album in seven years, I Look to You.

The singer performed three songs from the new album including her new single written by R&B singer-songwriter Alicia Keys “Million Dollar Bill” and this song closed the set with “I’m Every Woman”, one of her signature hits. The set-list also included another hit “My Love is Your Love”. Houston’s performances will be broadcast on Wednesday.

Diane Sawyer and Robin Roberts certain brought the excitement with their priceless introduction of Whitney on the Good Morning America music stage. Whitney’s 16-year-old daughter Bobbi Kristina with her ex-husband Bobby Brown was also close by for the performance.

The songstar thanked her fans and told them “God bless you” repeatedly after singing to the crowd gathered at Rumsey Playfied in Central Park. Houston told the audience that they make her feel so good.

Kate Gosselin and her bodyguard, Steve Neild, were spotted in Los Angeles on Tuesday.

Kate was in the City of Angels to appear on CNN's "Larry King Live" and Hollywood.tv was on the scene as she and Neild walked in and out of a TV studio. Kate thoughtfully paused to sign an autograph as a multitude of photographers greeted her.

During the show,Kate is doing her best to avoid bad-mouthing husband Jon, despite prodding from the Ol’ Suspendered Interrogator. She insisted she and Jon had a “peaceful custody” arrangement. She admitted, “My nature is to freak out, to be in control.” Nonetheless, she rather amazingly said the whole separation thing has been “a good experience.”

Other than the divorce, Kate spoke about the possibility of Jon leaving their show, Jon & Kate Plus 8. This is following on from the news that Jon’s own pilot plans are in the pooper, and his relationship with TLC is headed the same way after he breached some whimsical morality clause.

She said that TLC “has the editing rights” to the show and so she has no control over what’s shown on Jon & Kate.

The mama Gosselin also has choice words about her husband: "Jon is having difficult times realizing that, you know, you can't go to the grocery store without people whipping out their cell phones, calling everyone they know and taking pictures of you. He is dealing very poorly with it."

Tantalizingly, in response to a question about her future, she said, “I have big dreams… I am very driven.” What could this mean? Does Kate want to host her own TLC talk show, giving advice to other parents? Does she want to replace Paula on American Idol?

richard hatch arrested

The sister of “Survivor” winner Richard Hatch said Wednesday she thinks her brother was sent back to jail over an interview, and a radio station host said Hatch called in to his show twice without the station first getting permission from the federal Bureau of Prisons.

Hatch, who won "Survivor" in 2000, was taken to the Barnstable County Sheriff's Office in Bourne, Mass., where the Federal Bureau of Prisons holds federal inmates.

Hatch was nabbed at his sister's home in Newport, R.I., where he has been living under house arrest after serving nearly four years in prison for tax evasion, msnbc.com reports.

Hatch’s sister told NBC’s “Today” show on Wednesday that when a sheriff’s deputy came to bring her brother to the Barnstable County Jail in Massachusetts on Tuesday, she overheard him say that Hatch was being jailed because “he did an interview.”

"I know without question that there are personal issues involved for the prosecutor. I don't know why. The prosecutorial misconduct has been egregious," Hatch told Lauer.

"He told the court I didn't pay my taxes in 2000, and he told the court I haven't been cooperative," Hatch said. "The IRS specifically contradicts that. I don't have a bill for 2000. I haven't even been assessed for 2000. And I've been fully cooperative."
Hatch’s lawyer and sister did not immediately return calls seeking comment.

His term is scheduled to end on Oct. 7.

Actress Alyssa Milano married Hollywood agent David Bugliari at a rustic, Italian-themed wedding in New Jersey on Saturday.

The couple held the wedding ceremony at David’s family estate, her rep confirms. Though wedding photos have yet to hit the net, here are some details about the event.

Alyssa wore a custom gown by Vera Wang, and held a bouquet of lily of the valley flowers. The isle was strewn with cream-colored rose petals and natural grass and John Lennon’s “Imagine” played as background music. The wedding theme was nature and family.

"We wanted a wedding that was reflective of who we are as a couple" says Milano.

"My Italian family still eats Sunday dinner together every week," she adds. "We wanted to capture the same feeling with people passing around beautiful bowls of food and talking and laughing."

Milano and Bugliari exchanged traditional vows under a wrought-iron gazebo decorated with willow, calla lilies and roses. Celebrity guests included actor Bradley Cooper, Ryan Seacrest, Jerry Ferrara, and Will Ferrell.

David Bugliari is a talent agent for Creative Artists Agency and has been sating Alyssa for close to two years.This is Alyssa's second marriage. She was preciously married to Cinjun Tate but divorced him after 11 months.

“I just never thought it could be this good,” Kimora Lee Simmons coos to OK!. The 34-year-old Baby Phat CEO and Style Network star has every reason to be in love with life: her career is superhot right now, and she and her husband, actor Djimon Hounsou, welcomed their first child, a boy named Kenzo Lee, in May.

Kenzo Lee Hounsou, born in June, is the first son for Djimon and Kimora, who has two daughters from her marriage to hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons.

The first African American model to grace the cover of ‘Ladies Home Journal’ has died of cancer at age 61. She has also been dubbed the first African American 'supermodel.'

Sims was considered the "first black supermodel" for appearing on the cover of Ladies Home Journal in November 1968, a time when African-American models were few and far between. She subsequently modeled for designers like Halston, Fernando Sánchez, Teal Traina, and Giorgio di Sant'Angelo. She also appeared on many other magazine covers, and two images-- a 1969 cover of LIFE and a 1967 New York Times fashion magazine over--are on display in the Metropolitan Museum's "The Model As Muse" exhibit.

After five years, Sims retired from modeling and started a multimillion-dollar wig-making business that specialized in designs for black women.In 1976 focused on a line of beauty products for African American women called the Naomi Sims Collection. .She has also written five books on health, beauty, and success for the African American woman.

She was born in Mississippi and grew up as a foster child in Pittsburgh.

According to Usmagazine.com, when an employee at the Ryan Sheckler X Games Celebrity Classic saw the large-and-in-charge Federline, he reportedly said, "Man, that's a belly on him! That's K-Fed?!"

Amidst other celebs on hand (including Verne Troyer, Frankie Delgado and Josh Henderson), Federline further stood out from the pack by taking golf lightly and, according to US Weekly, spending most of his time in the shade with girlfriend Victoria Prince while sipping vodka and smoking cigarettes.

Federline's ex-love Shar Jackson didn't take too seriously the criticisms K-Fed since faced since debuting his new look.

"It's daddy weight!" said Jackson, the mother of Federline's two oldest children. "When you are a full-time parent, sometimes you can't focus on you. If gaining a few pounds is your only problem, life's not too bad!"

Someone may need to remind Federline, who is reportedly angling for a reality show about his life as a father and with Prince, that the camera adds 10 pounds.
